Sean ”Diddy” Combs begs for Simon Cowell’s ‘American Idol’ role

Sean ”Diddy” Combs has been begging American television bosses for Simon Cowell’s ‘American Idol’ job.

The 90’s hip-hop star has been putting himself forward for consideration – after glimpsing Cowell”s paycheck.

“I have been fronting all this time, trying to act like I don”t want that spot. (But) I spoke to Simon”s business manager, and I found out how much that boy makes a week. I am praying right now to American Idol,” the Daily Star quoted him as telling MTV.com

“I want everybody to get on Twitter, MySpace, Facebook and say that Diddy should get the Simon spot – but for the same amount of money that Simon was getting, else it”s a deal-breaker he added.

“I”m tired of being cool: That number that Simon was getting a week is ridiculous. I can”t even be cool with that. Please, can I have the job, whoever”s in charge of giving that job? There”s no negotiating the contract. Just change the name on the check, and I”ll be there,” he added.

Simon Cowell thinks he’s too old to become a father

Music mogul Simon Cowell has confessed that the thought of becoming a father troubles him because of his age.

Cowell, 50, proposed to the make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy earlier this year (10), and the couple is currently planning its wedding.

However, Cowell is wary of having children with his fiancee because he would feel too old to play with them.

“I worry about that (having children) because of my age. When I was younger, my dad used to play soccer and games with me and I worry – I worry that if I was 70…” the Daily Star quoted him as telling Oprah Winfrey.

Simon Cowell thinks top Britain”s Got Talent acts are “drying out”

X Factor star Simon Cowell has been telling his friends he fears the number of good acts on ‘Britain’ Got Talent’ are “drying out”.

Cowell, 50, was overheard confessing to friends that he felt that “the pond had been fished dry”, reports the Mirror.

The success of Susan Boyle last year and several dance acts attracted 19.2million viewers for the final and enabled ITV to make millions in ad deals.

But on Saturday the show got its lowest ratings of the new run with an average of only 9.5 million tuning in, almost three million lower than on the start of the series.

“With well over 10 million people watching every episode this year, Britain”s Got Talent is by far the most popular programme on a Saturday night,” said an ITV spokesman.

Simon Cowell to be knighted?

TV mogul Simon Cowell may soon be honoured with the title “Sir” for his charity works and achievement in British record industry.

Former England’s Prime Minister Gordon Brown reportedly recommended his name last week before he made his exit from the top post.

Brown had appreciated the ‘X-Factor’ judge for recording a star-studded fundraising CD for the victims of this year’s Haiti earthquake.

Cowell had helped to raise almost 1million pounds for the appeal by getting the likes of Robbie Williams and Rod Stewart to help record ‘Everybody Hurts’.

According to sources in Westminster, Cowell will be knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours on June 12.

“Gordon Brown was very keen for Simon to get proper recognition for his work,” the Mirror quoted a source, as saying.

The insider added: “He was particularly impressed by the way Simon responded to his suggestion to release the record for Haiti by dropping everything to ensure it was a success.

“And there’s also no doubt Simon has brought a great deal of happiness to millions of people with his music and TV shows.”

A source close to Cowell said: “It would be an absolutely huge achievement and a wonderful tribute to all he’s achieved professionally.

“Simon deserves the honour because he does so much work behind the scenes for charity and publicly supports good causes.

“He has also generated millions in the music and entertainment industries, created thousands of jobs and helped make Sony a multinational conglomerate.

“Simon has always joked he’d be last in line for a knighthood. But, deep down, it’s his dream.”

However, in an interview last year, Cowell said he didn’t work to earn knighthood, he said: “I never did all this to get a knighthood. I am very lucky to do what I do and feel privileged.”
