Searching for Solutions for Throat Cancer of Michael Douglas

It was reported that a “Wall Street” Star, Michael Douglas, has a tumor in the throat. According to some official sources, the famous actor should come through a painful treatment that will last during eight weeks. The treatment includes radiation that should be given about five times a week/ also the actor will have to undergo chemotherapy that should be done every one, two or three weeks.

Michael is a very strong person and he is usually optimistic whatever happens in his life. There is no any secret that patiens who have throat cancer often face some additional complications during their treatment. First of all, there is a radiation to the mouth that is difficult to endure, but it is considered to be one of the most effective ways to struggle against throat cancer. However, it should be taken into consideration that radiation damages cells. There can be sores in a mouth and difficulties in swallowing. In some cases people lose their ability to speak after the therapy. Still one should not forget about the most important factors that usually influence on the result of treatment, i.e. the stage of the cancer development, the size of the tumor, its location, age and a general state of health of the patient.
