Angelina walks away, Natalie Portman replaces her in “Gravity”
Natalie Portman well known for her infamous performace in the “Black Swan” has been offered Angelina Jolie’s role in the “Gravity” opposite to Robert Downey Jr. after Jolie walked out of the sci-fi drama.
The movie director, Cuaron, had in mind a number of potential stars, but Portman topped his choice who shortly received her official offer from Warner Bros. as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Now it is upto her to make the decision to join this movie after readind the script.
The actors have to play the role of astronauts who remains stranded in their space station after a disaster. Downey seems to have a smaller role than Natalie who will have a strong urge to get back to earth to her daughter waiting for her. “Gravity” will be a $ 80 million movie made with 3D effects.
2011 seems to be a busy year for Portman who is already scheduled with a lot of work. Her three upcoming movies are already lined to be released, “Your Highness”, “No Strings” and “Thor”. She is currently working on “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” directed by David O Russell. Even Terence Malick is eyeing Natalie to work in his movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Seward for yet another project.
With no time to breathe, accepting “Gravity” for Portman must be quite a decision.
