Prince going door to door with teachings of Jehovah’’s Witnesses

Pop singer Prince is spreading the teachings of Jehovah’’s Witnesses, the Christian denomination, by going door-to-door in LA.

In an interview with this week’’s New Yorker, the purple-loving pop star said that he started following the teachings of the religion two years ago.

And since then he’’s started leaving his gated community to knock on doors and proselytise.

“Sometimes people act surprised, but mostly they”re totally cool about it,” The New York Post quoted Prince as saying.

The “When Doves Cry” singer further said that that he sees his conversion as more of “a realization.

He compared his conversation to like that of “Morpheus and Neo in ”The Matrix.”” (ANI)

Now, political gulf between Jolie and dad

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie’s relationship with her father Jon Voight apparently turned more sour after the veteran actor announced his support for presidential candidate John McCain during the election campaigns.

According to her friends, the ‘Tomb Raider’ star was “embarrassed” that her father, who attended the Republican national convention, was among a few celebrities who were backing the ill-fated McCain campaign

Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt are keen Barack Obama supporters.

Rumours were abuzz that Jolie and her father were on better terms due to the diplomatic efforts of Pitt.

However, Jolie’s pals fear that Voight’s political association could damage the chances of reconciliation with his daughter,

“Angie was embarrassed by her father’s association with McCain, not to mention his comments about Sarah Palin, who she isn’t a fan of,” the Daily Express quoted a source as saying.

“Angie remarked that considering the treatment he doled out to her mother, she wasn’t that surprised that he now supported a woman who, in her opinion, was taking women’s rights back 100 years.

“Things are fragile between Angie and Jon and it doesn’t take much to rock the boat. Their political differences haven’t helped things,” the source added. (ANI)

Pop star Elton John may be married to a man but his sexuality couldn’t stop him from being bowled over by a charming woman.

John, who was in New York to attend the premier of “ Billy Elliot”, couldn’t stop gazing at a big-boobed brunette, while in the elevator at the St. Regis.

“A big-boobed brunette is in the elevator at the St. Regis with her cleavage pouring out when Elton steps in and it definitely catches his eye,” the New York Post quoted a source, as saying.

“When they reached the ground, like a good English gentleman Elton bowed slightly and extended his arm out to indicate ”ladies first.” She gave him a wink like a hottie who knew she was so smoking that even gay men can”t resist a peek,” a source added. (ANI)

Sugababes may boycott Brits awards if refused ‘recognition’ again

Pop band Sugababes has had it once and for all with UK’s biggest music awards, who they claim have denied them “recognition”.

The London group, consisting of Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah, is yet to claim a major Brit award despite their six No.1 hits, two Guinness World Records, sale of 5.5 million albums – even a visit from Brit PM Gordon Brown.

“I’m proud that Gordon Brown is recognising us, but why not the Brits? We’re British for God’s sake and we’ve done well. Surely we deserve an award after all the hard work we’ve done?” the Mirror quoted Keisha as saying.

Amelle added: “I’m telling you, if they don’t nominate us this year, that’s it, I’m done. I’m not going.

“They should sack all those old men on the board and leave it to the fans to decide. They don’t know what they are talking about.

“Our song About You Now sold almost as many singles as Rihanna’s Umbrella – yet she was up on-stage and we got no recognition.” (ANI)

Victoria Secrets redefines glamour with jewel-clad models

Victoria Secrets has given glamour a makeover in its own signature style – with sparkling models clad in jewels.

The designer brand dazzled all when its models, dressed as glamorous goddesses, a design influenced from the 1920s, walked down the runway at the newly renovated Fontainebleau Beach during.

The fashion giant, in its latest Miami show, had supermodels like Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, and Miranda Kerr in wings to showcase its 68 outfits.

Amongst the collection was a five million dollar Black Diamond Fantasy Miracle Bra that was studded with white and black diamonds and rubies, worn by Adriana, and designed by jeweller Martin Katz.

“I always wanted to wear the Fantasy Bra. It’s the first time that Victoria’s Secret makes a black diamond bra. A woman could definitely buy it if they love it and men too,” the Sun quoted Adriana as saying.

There was also a gold sculpted feather body piece that curved around the model’s body, while some models had a metal sculpted laurel leaves around their necks.

Company CEO Sharen Turney added: “Victoria’s Secret is about sexy, and the new sexy is glamorous for this season.” (ANI)

Jacko sued £4.3million by Arab sheik for breaching record deal

King of Pop Michael Jackson has been sued 4.3million pounds by an Arab sheik for not sticking to his record deal.

The lawsuit was brought about by Prince Abdulla Al-Khalif, of Bahrain, reports the Sun.

The Prince claims that Jacko had signed an exclusive deal for an autobiography, two albums and a musical, but that he never came through with the deal.

The sheik claims that he had given Jackson, 50, a 180,000-pound Rolls Royce, and bailed out his Neverland ranch after his acquittal on child-molesting charges in June 2005.

The Thriller singer is not expected to be at London’s High Court. (ANI)

Jennifer Garner plans ‘poker-suite’ surprise for hubby Ben Affleck

When it comes to giving a surprise, Jennifer Garner literally has a rather ‘sweet deal’ for her husband Ben Affleck—a plan to build a private gaming suite for him in their home.

Affleck, loves playing poker so much that he even became the first celebrity to win a major open tournament after raking in a total of 356,400 dollars at the California State Poker Championship in 2004.

And after trying very hard to make him chuck the habit, wife Garner, according to the National Enquirer, has now finally given up on him to put down the deck.

“Jen wanted Ben to cut out playing poker completely, but she knew that wasn”t realistic. So she decided to build a room at home where Ben could have the boys over once a week,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.

The source added: “When it’’s done, Ben’’s poker room is expected to look just like a private high-roller suite at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, which is where he likes to play.” (ANI)

Jordan insists her marriage is stronger than ever

Jordan aka Katie Price has confirmed that her marriage to pop star Peter Andre is rock solid, insisting their relationship is in fact stronger than ever.

Jordan revealed that she has what it takes to her keep her man wanting for more.

“He’s a man and he will always want more sex than he gets. Pete might not get it often . . . but when he does it’s worth it,” The Sun quoted Price, as saying.

Jordan, who has two children with Peter Andre and one from an earlier relationship, stated that they are pretty much like any other regular couple.

‘Noddy’ to celebrate 60th Birthday with a book

Noddy, a character created by British children’s author Enid Blyton, will have a book written to mark its 60th anniversary next year.

The new book, provisionally entitled Noddy’’s Birthday Surprise, will be written by the late Blyton’s granddaughter Sophie Smallwood, 38, and illustrated by Robert Tyndall, who began drawing the characters in 1953.

“It is a great honour, if a little daunting, to pick up the pen and take over from my grandmother,” Times Online quoted Smallwood as saying.

According to the Telegraph, the book has been commissioned by Chorion, the firm that owns the rights to Noddy, and earns a reported 180million dollars a year from sales of the books.

Noddy had originally been published between 1949 and 1963, and it is the longest running show on British television since 1955, and though the book has undergone many changes, Smallwood said that she had no plans of undoing any of them.

The books have since sold 200million copies in 40 languages, making Blyton the sixth most translated author in the world, just behind William Shakespeare. (ANI)

Sir Michael Caine bags award for five decades of famous film roles

English actor Michael Caine was honoured at the Variety Club’s 56th annual Showbusiness awards on November 16 for his five decades of famous film roles.

Caine, 75, who has starred in classic movies like Alfie, Get Carter and The Italian Job, was awarded the Outstanding Contribution prize, the Daily Express reported.

Besides the veteran actor, English television presenter Noel Edmonds, the cast of musical Hairspray, Kenneth Branagh and James McAvoy were awarded.

Scottish actor McAvoy, 29, was honoured with the Film Award for his performances in titles such as Atonement, The Last King of Scotland and Wanted.

Branagh, 47, won the Stage Performance gong for the title role in Chekhov’s tragicomedy Ivanov at the Wyndham’s Theatre.

Hollywood star Al Pacino scooped the International Award at the ceremony in London. (ANI)
